Why a Sliding Scale Model?

Why a Sliding Scale Model?

Here’s what I value:

  • Everyone deserves access to high-quality, meaningful, anti-oppressive coaching, therapy, and business education.

  • We all thrive when more people have the resources, tools, and skills they need to make tangible moves towards their dreams and goals.

  • Money shouldn’t be a barrier to healing.

  • It’s important to factor in my position of power and privileged identities when it comes to the work I do and who has access to my work and services due to their socioeconomic background and the systems of oppression that we live within.

  • Coaching, therapy, and business education are often economically inaccessible, particularly for Black, queer folks, and doing what I can to remove those barriers allows more people to get the tools, skills, and knowledge they need to succeed and thrive.

As an anti-capitalist entrepreneur I’m constantly thinking about how I can share my knowledge, resources, and skill set with others in meaningful and impactful ways without burning myself out.

I asked myself, “How can I share my services from a place of abundance while also ensuring that it’s sustainable for me on an energetic, financial, material, physical, and emotional level?”

Sliding scale feels like the best match.

I now offer 1:1 coaching at a sliding scale from $149 (USD) - $449 (USD) per session.

Everyone I work with no matter what price point they choose receives the same high-quality, attentive, trauma-informed coaching from me. I don’t believe in applications or requiring proof of income.

You know your needs best!

My system is not perfect and I don’t have all the answers. I’m coming at this from a place of learning and experimentation, which is what entrepreneurship essentially is all about.

At this moment, the sliding scale best aligns with my coaching philosophy.  At the root of my philosophy is advocating for a more equitable world, and this seems like one, imperfect, manageable step in that direction. Imperfect because, of course, this doesn’t completely get rid of the barriers.

In time, I hope to be able to provide scholarships for folks who need it.

Erin, your fave feminist killjoy :)
